nAppliance Networks, provider of Microsoft powered appliance hardware , today announced that it has changed its name to Iron Networks. Iron Networks will maintain the nAppliance brand for the traditional network edge security, and Remote access appliance solutions powered by Microsoft Forefront™ technologies and will continue to ship and support the nTMG and nUAG products through their lifetimes; all new products will be launched under the Iron Networks Brand.

Iron Networks has expanded from turnkey appliances to the data center infrastructure markets for Microsoft based private and public cloud offerings. “This re-branding to Iron Networks allows us to aggressively pursue new opportunities around purpose-built Cloud IT and life-cycle-management support for hybrid cloud infrastructures. We are now focused on simplifying data center setup and management with a goal to build industry-leading converged infrastructure platforms.” said Billy Bath, CEO of Iron Networks.
The first two appliance families Iron Networks is launching this year, the Microsoft Hyper-V Network Virtualization gateway (HNV), a first in the industry, NVGRE appliances for data centers; and Microsoft Unified Remote Access (URA), an appliance designed to be a complete remote access solution for remote users and branches. These purpose-built appliance solutions are based on the Windows Server 2012 platform and offer turnkey solutions around the Microsoft Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) cloud story for SMB, enterprise and cloud service providers worldwide.
Iron Networks will be building and expanding upon the initial release of their HNV and URA products in the first half of 2013, with additional offerings in the areas of remote access, security and networking, and SDDC centric modular data center infrastructure.
